Get ready for excitement about the iPad 3 to reach fever pitch – Apple will launch its new tablet at a media event in early February, according to reports.
Anonymous sources within Apple's component supply chain have dished the dirt on the event, according to Japanese blog Macotakara. A February iPad 3 event fits with rumours that the tablet will hit store shelves in March.
The latest goss on the iPad 3 suggests that it'll come packing a Retina Display, a quad-core A6 processor and – for the US market, at least – LTE technology. Though we in the UK might get an LTE iPad 3 too, if Everything Everywhere's plans to introduce 4G earlier than expected come to fruition.
Don't expect the iPad 3 to kill off the iPad 2, though – Apple's still ordering up 9.7in, 1024x768 LCD panels alongside the 2048x1536 panels that'll grace the iPad 3, according to suppliers cited by DigiTimes.
